717 knowledge-based units operating in industrial parks
TEHRAN - The acting head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) said 717 knowledge-based production units are currently operating in the country’s industrial parks and zones.
According to Farshad Moghimi, 1,800 deals have been signed in the country’s industrial parks in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22) of which 50 have been with knowledge-based firms, IRIB reported.
“One of the most important requirements of knowledge-based companies is the distribution of their products in the market; Knowledge-based companies should check the country's needs and make sure that after producing a product or investing in knowledge and technology, their capital will return,” Moghimi said.
According to the official, the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry has recently unveiled a support package for knowledge-based companies.
Back in June, the former head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization said that the organization’s special package to support knowledge-based companies will be announced soon to provide more support for them.
Ali Rasoulian said, “We are looking to make the capable and talented companies located in the industrial parks and zones of the country knowledge-based, and we do this with the help of our specialized consultants.”
The official has also said that the industrial parks in deprived areas are prioritized for fund allocation.
Emphasizing the need to create an industrial balance in the country, Rasoulian said that to achieve this goal, the establishment of new industrial parks and zones in deprived areas is also in the plan.
